The Aluminum Casters' Association of India (Alucast) is a registered body, with Head Office at Pune, Maharashtra. It is managed by a Board of Trustees. Its list of members includes manufacturers of aluminium castings, users of castings, die casting machines and peripherals, for die casting machines, foundry chemicals & consumables, design software, casting process simulation software, dies, and others connected with casting manufacture and post casting processes.
The main goal of the Association is to a) enhance the knowledge of aluminium casting industry among its existing and prospective members, leading to increased market share globally for castings manufactured in India b) provide a global forum for Indian casting producers on matters of common concern and interest. C) encourage and assist continuous improvement in the quality of castings produced.
The Association organizes and conducts training programmes, workshops, national and international seminars, conferences and exhibitions and industrial visits.
Alucast faculty offer training courses and workshops, both in-house as well as class room type, the course contents and duration being custom designed for each client. English, Hindi and Marathi are the most used mediums of instruction, but other major regional languages may also be considered.
In partnership with Buhler India, part of the well known Buhler Group, Switzerland, Alucast conducts training programmes which include practical, hands on training on a fully functional Buhler 53 Ecoline pressure die casting machine , installed at the Buhler Alucast Training School(B*A*T*S), Bangalore. Each trainee is taught how to work out the process parameters for a given casting, set the process parameters on the real time shot control unit of the machine and run the machine to produce castings.
