ALUCAST^® 2024: Showcasing India's Rise as a Global Leader in Aluminium Die Casting Industry

The 10^th edition of ALUCAST® Expo marked a significant milestone as it brought together the global die-casting industry at Yashobhoomi, India International Convention & Expo Center, in Dwarka, Delhi. Held from December 5 to December 7, the event showcased India's growing prominence in the aluminium die-casting sector. Organized by The Aluminium Casters' Association (ALUCAST)^® and produced by NuernbergMesse India, the exhibition featured over 200 exhibitors and 300 brands from across the globe, attracting more than 7,000 industry visitors from 20+ countries.

Key Highlights

Inaugurated by Mr. Peter Ottmann - CEO, NurnbergMesse GmbH, the event included addresses by prominent figures like Mr. PrasanFirodia - Managing Director of Force Motors and Jaya Hind Industries Pvt Ltd and President of ALUCAST, Ms. Sonia Prashar - Managing Director, NuernbergMesse India Pvt Ltd and Mr.Vinay Raghunath - Partner at EY.

Mr. Firodia emphasized India's advancements in die-casting technology, including the ability to produce large, high-precision components with machines like the 4400-tonne aluminium die-casting unit. Ms. Prashar hailed the expo's success, predicting robust growth for the aluminium die-casting industry in sectors like aerospace, consumer electronics, and telecom.

As a part of the expo, an international conference and seminar was also organised where 31 speakers from different countries participated and presented 27 technical papers and products. About 150 delegates attended the conference and contributed to the vast knowledge exchange. The conference theme, "Leveraging Innovation & Technology for Global Competitiveness," explored advancements in semi-solid casting, AI applications, die longevity, and workforce reskilling. Over 2.5 days, global experts shared insights on the technological innovations shaping the future of die casting.

The closing ceremony showcased the excellence within the industry with awards for Best Casting and insightful words by Mr. Deepak Thukral, Executive Officer (SCM) – MSIL.

Aluminium die casting is a cornerstone of India's manufacturing landscape, finding applications in automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics, electrical equipment, and more.The sector's growth aligns with India's ambition to double the size of its automotive industry by 2024, fuelled by the burgeoning EV market.

Cutting-edge products, machinery, tools, materials, and technologies aimed at enhancing productivity and efficiency were displayed.The platform fostered valuable collaborations and knowledge sharing, positioning India as a global hub for die-casting innovation.

The launch of ALUCAST Publications, including a Technical Volume, Journal, and Exhibitors Directory, highlighted industry achievements. The Best Foundry Award 2024 and Best Casting Award 2024 recognized innovation and excellence in operations and design.

Exhibitors and participants from countries like Thailand, Germany, USA, Spain, and Japan underscored the event's international reach.

The expo underscored India's growing stature as a leader in advanced manufacturing technologies and its commitment to driving innovation for global competitiveness.
